MAFIASKO TAXI - ALBUM RELEASED FOR VIA LACTEA RECORDS!
And finally, as a last step for the Mafiasko Taxi music project inside the Feria de Fronteras idea, we come to the point to salute their first album "Ljudi ptice / Human Birds". Album is released for Via Lactea records in Belgium, the organization who will be in charge for the future management of the band. The album consists of mostly sevdah influenced tracks, but hey(!) - you should hear it as soon as possible, and discover a vast range of music genres and amalgam of sounds flowing through their music. Certainly not to miss, neither the album, nor the last tour dates announced:

SANJA JOVANOVIĆ: FAMILY MATTERS - DOCUMENTARY PHOTO EXHIBITION
As a final photo exhibition in our project, we present a great work of a Belgrade born and recently a Jakarta resident Sanja Jovanović, whose work made a significant impact on our understanding of real life surrounding us. "In many of the villages in Serbia there is a growing problem, the sound of crying babies hasn't been heard for a long time. Searching for better life women moved to towns so the only inhabitants left are lonely men. These already elderly man decide on their last effort of getting married, searching for hope in Albania..."

MAFIASKO TAXI - MAY 2012 TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED!
With their new name recently promoted, Mafiasko Taxi finally hits the road with full length concerts! Their destination this time around will be 3 great festivals in France and Belgium: Wazemmes l'Accordéon in Lille becoming a regular host of the Balkan influenced music, and certainly one of the greatest promoters of trans-border cooperation among musicians! The famous Airbag festival in Bruges recognized the great feeling Dick van der Harst seeded into the band with his accordion, and then the festival in Tournai brought back the band to its city of birth...

4TH WORKING MEETING / REHEARSALS / PRESS CONFERENCE / TRYOUTS
And once again, the whole Feria de Fronteras caravan gets together in Subotica, Serbia. This time the venue for the rehearsals and the first tryout concert of the band will be the famous Alexander Lifka Art Cinema, City Press Center of Subotica will host the press conference and the Majkin Salaš farmhouse will be the final destination and tryout venue of this early spring gathering.

Representatives of all 4 organizations participating in FdF met in Subotica, signed their Partnership agreements and discussed visibility and PR issues needed for the 1st press conference coming up in Sarajevo by the end of July.

FERIA DE FRONTERAS "BREAKS-ON-THROUGH" WITH 1ST PHOTOGRAPHERS MEETING & WORKSHOP
Three official FdF photographers (Hervé Leteneur of Flonflons, Molnár Edvárd and Nikola Lučić both of Etnofest) met in Subotica-Serbia for the 1st activity inside the Break-on-Through photography research process. They were joined by colleagues from Hungary, Ukraine and young photographers from Serbia to participate in this project's first photo-workshop. The initial photo exhibition "Dernek na grani" was already set up by eight talented photographers from the city of Subotica.

FERIA DE FRONTERAS PROJECT PARTNERS 1ST WORKING MEETING
Representatives of Via Lactea (Belgium), Flonflons (France), Etnofest (Serbia) and Crvena (Bosnia-Herzegovina) came together in Belgian towns of Kortrijk and Tournai, to discuss the project work-plan in details, paying a special attention to the core project activities scheduled for 2011. They also visited the historic Flemish town of Gent, as well as Wazemmes - the cultural melting-pot suburb in the city of Lille, France.
